Happy Monday to all! I always find the week of Christmas to be warm, wonderful and nonstop. It’s looking like we won’t have a white Christmas in Alaska this year, but it is a very COLD Christmas (it’s 10 degrees outside right now)!
One of the goals of this blog is to inspire and empower women and midwives. I want to do that by providing a platform for women to share their stories about their midwifery care. Midwifery care can include your antepartum care, your birth, postpartum care – whatever you’d like. The idea is that we start sharing what midwives do every. single. day. We have to open the doors for people to how midwives practice without violating the birth space. I can’t think of a better way to accomplish this than to share stories. If women can glimpse what midwives offer through another woman’s story – then she will know midwifery care is an option for her…and possibly, consider seeking midwifery care in her area!
In full disclosure, a lot of people in my own family aren’t sure what I do! It’s time to change that.
My challenge to you is this: if you received care from a midwife and feel inspired to share your story, email me here and help spread the word about midwifery care! It can be a little snippet or your entire birth story. I can’t wait to hear what you all have to say. Let’s share our stories with the world.
