Behind the scenes lately…

Hey friends!

Wow. If you’ve been wondering where I’ve been in the past 6 weeks, I’ll tell ya. It has all to do with this little one! We’re expecting baby #4 in the fall and goodness, gracious me – I have never been so nauseous my entire life.

Does nausea get worse the more times you’ve been pregnant?! I had a little bit of nausea with babes 2 and 3, but nothing like this pregnancy. Or is it because there are three littles ones running around on top of the pregnancy?

I’m not sure, but either way, the nausea is improving and we’re delighted.

So if it’s been quiet around the blog, that’s because most of my waking hours have been managing nausea, a household and work while trying to lay down and sleep all the minutes in between. Blogging got bumped to the back burner ASAP!

In the meantime, did you catch the STATE RESOURCES page? This is my effort to increase transparency about state and local resources across the USA. There are some platforms that do this but not well (in my opinion!). If you have a resource to add, please send me a DM on the insta or an email at amidwifenation@gmail.com.

And if you missed the insta post this week, the must have resource for all providers, mamas and mental health workers is:

National Maternal Mental Health Hotline: 1-833-943-5746. Funded by the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and powered by Postpartum Support International, is available 24/7, 365 days a year, in English or Spanish and other languages by request.

Also good to note is the mental health provider directory – https://psidirectory.com/. Usable by patients or providers, this is absolutely invaluable.

I added both of these my postpartum discharge education so patients have access to even more support if needed.

Behind the scenes, I’m working on some chart templates for provider notes and finalizing 38 and 39-40 week templates. What does everyone think about a 41 week template? How many of your pregnancies went to post-dates?

As always, thanks for your support during the highs and lows of the blog. It means the world to me.

XOXO,

Jamie

I am so jazzed about meeting baby #4!!! Being sick most of your pregnancy totally sucks, and I hope you get some relief ASAP! Being too hot + exhausted + chasing babies + working doesn’t sound like a very fun summer!
