It’s Live…the Initial OB Template!

Happy Wednesday to all! The snowpack is almost melted up here in the frontier and it has brought smiles to everyone’s face. Want to see a 4 year old do a happy dance? Pull out their bicycle that’s been in the shed for 6 months – pure joy!

Today the initial OB template is live on the TOOLS & HANDOUTS page!

The new OB or the initial OB visit is the visit that I send the most handouts home with the patient. Yes, I am aware I am using a lot of paper, but there is so much to accomplish in the visit and no one’s brain can remember it all.

Enter this tool to help!

I broke down the visit a few weeks back – read that post here if you missed it. The tool is meant for the provider to use with the patient at the end of the visit and then the patient takes it home!

I tried to put a lot of education on the tool as well as some goals to keep in mind.

I also made the to do list very clear because I find a lot of patients walk down the hall after the visit and say “Wait, what was I supposed to do first?”

I expect the tool to change a bit over time and as I find better way to synthesize the information. I’ll update the versions on the bottom of the tools as they are updated and always put a reminder on the blog as well.

Take a look, let me know what you think, and please share with a friend this week!

Hugs,

Jamie
